With the aim of avoiding the wastage of fish (i.e. fish that were caught but could not be sold, and has little economic value), we came up with the idea to use traditional processing and conserving techniques that preserve the nutritional value of the fish and extend the fish’s expiration date. We work for increasing the variety of fish that can be consumed in every season by the local and urban families.
We aspire to create awareness in our society by working for the marine resources to be used environment-friendly, consciously, sustainably, and without harming the marine ecosystem.
The purpose of our project BPBJ is to sustain the biological balance and diversity of the seas. We envision to create a resource to benefit from the seas/seafood in a practicable and healthy way by popularising the methods of preservation and production of homemade canning of various fish species and to hand it down to future generations.
